The Bar Method: See how this nationally recognized fitness studio pumped energy into the walls of 3 of their franchises
A couple years ago we were introduced to the owners of The Bar Method fitness studio in Madison, NJ. Little did we know this would be the beginning of a lasting partnership between FotoFoam and multiple studios in the national fitness franchise.
Gina Striffler was opening her first studio and she needed art for the walls. There were (3) main requirements for this art:
- It had to have a fresh, contemporary look to it.
- It had to match the rest of the space, both from a color and size perspective.
- It had to convey the values and objectives of The Bar Method brand.
We worked closely with Gina on the design of the pieces. For the content, we used her own personal photographs of classes she had taught. These photographs showed both instructors and members doing the exercises in perfect form. Just as importantly, it showed them having fun!
To achieve the contemporary look, we proposed doing pleximounts using glossy prints with matte plexiglass on the front. We also determined that the black & white prints would look great with a white border. Inclusive of the white border, the prints were each 18″x24″. Gina approved this approach and we moved forward to production.
Once completed, we took the prints to the studio and installed them. Gina has told us that they get consistently positive feedback from members.
A few months after finishing this project we got a call from Lori Terry, who owns the Bar Method studio in Westfield, NJ. She had seen Gina’s studio and loved the prints, and wanted to have her own made for her new studio in Westfield. So we sat down with Lori and determined that we could do a similar print style for her studio. It was clear at this point that the design was an effective match for The Bar Method branding.
After a few emails deciding which would be the ideal images to have printed & mounted, Lori decided on 5 final photos. Once it was determined that the best dimension was 16″x20″ we moved forward to production. Once completed, we took the prints out to the studio and installed them.
The project came out beautifully and received similarly positive feedback from the studio members at the Westfield location.
A few months after completing this project we were contacted by Sabina Clark at The Bar Method – Warren, NJ. She was opening a new studio and had seen the pleximounts at both Gina and Lori’s studios and wanted to do the same for hers. This time Sabina had her own set of 3 photos that she wanted to use for this project.
We determined that for Sabina’s studio, it would be best to do 13″x20″ pleximounts with the image flush to the edge of the print (no white border). Once complete we shipped these out to Sabina and she had them installed locally in Warren, NJ.
It’s been a pleasure for us to work on these projects with the entrepreneurs who run these The Bar Method franchises. To begin your own project for your gym, fitness studio or home exercise room visit our printing & framing page here!
